The Rotary Clubs of Banbridge and Dublin Fingal have been linked from the early 80's. No-one is certain how it all happened but first contact was made by Dublin Fingal's Lar Sheeran during Past President Jack Dobson's Presidency of Banbridge - Lar has been a regular visitor to the Banbridge Club since those early days. Close friendships were later bonded between the late Stanley and Laura Eckersall of Banbridge and the late Seamus Murphy, and his wife Celia, of Dublin Fingal who met at a Rotary Conference - probably in 1983.

Dublin Fingal were the first to suggest that the two Rotary Clubs should form a more tangible relationship and while there was no formal twinning, the foundation was laid.

From the mid 80's the clubs have regularly attended each other's social functions and Presidents' Nights, and the District Conference is always a perfect opportunity for Fellowship!
